January 27th is International Holocaust Rememberance Day honoring victims and remembering all of the lives lost through genocide. Today, in 1945, the Soviet army entered the Auschwitz-Birkenau Concentration Camp and found 7,650 remaining prisoners. More than 1.1 million were killed there and the atrocities that took place are horrific. This took place over 75 years ago and yet has mankind learned from the lessons of this tragic place? Sadly no. People are still held in camps across the globe today. Genocides are still taking place.
3G is commemorating International Holocaust Rememberance Day by marking today as the day to submit an entry into our video contest that is aptly focus on the question - why document atrocity? We're offering $3000 worth of prizes for filmmakers between 16-30 years old.
