Ngawang Sangdrol     Tibet, Tibet - Videos

Ngawang Sangdrol is a Tibetan nun who was first arrested at age 13 by the government of the People's Republic of China for peacefully demonstrating against the Chinese occupation of Tibet.

At age 15 she was rearrested for staging a peaceful pro-independence demonstration in Lhasa.  Her sentence was repeatedly extended as she continued to protest in prison. She was released from prison in October 2002 and currently resides in New York.
